Tips
The following are some items that a first time vendor may want to consider.
Workers
Do you have enough workers to cover expected business?
Are your workers able to communicate in English and Chinese?
Are your workers able to answer questions regarding your business to customers?
Are your workers able to answer questions regarding ingredients to customers with food allergies?
Marketing
The festival management provides overhead signage that includes your company logo and flag(s).
Do you have bi-lingual signage and menus for your table? In front of table? (chloroplast makes a quick and cheap backing and frame for signage. A blackboard can be made on the cheap using a piece of plywood and a can of flat black spray paint)
Do you have business cards? Brochures, coupons? (remember to give out business info to all customers with their food) Don’t forget to drop off some business cards to our information tent!!
Does your business have video or pictures that can be played on a screen at your booth?
(food photos, map locating restaurant, qr code can all be added to a simple slideshow)
Will you offer samples?
Do all you staff have matching shirts as required by mall?
Will you use your company logo on shirts?
The festival is an amazing opportunity to earn new customers that could become regulars. How do you plan on enticing them to visit your business after the event? Limited time coupons have worked for past vendors and a great way to track success of your marketing efforts.
